“It is an imagined moment and vehicle inspired by the cliffs in Montauk but could be any bluff on Long Island. The grasses and dune on the left are meant to supply a feeling of privacy and solitude. The truck can be seen as a stand in for a body or could also give an indication of a former passenger. There is no specific time but I leave it to the viewer to decide if it is a current relic of the or transportation to another time. In the area, a pickup truck has direct relationships to fishing, surfing, hunting, possibly a dog in the back but most importantly a connection to the natural world.” RM
