PALETTE TO PALATE DINNER
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18th @ 6PM
5 pm: Cocktail Hour - Enjoy cocktails with Simple Vodka, including a signature espresso martini with Aldo's Coffee, Dillon's Small Batch Distillers cocktails, and wine from Ultimate Provence.
After a long hiatus from pandemic the Palette to Palate dinner series is back! We will kick off the first one on Friday October 18th 2024 as part of the James Lane Post Fest Weekend at Sound View Greenport. This inventive and educational multi-course pairing dinner features farm-to-table dishes inspired by the artworks in one-to-one matchups created by Executive Chef Nathan Hitchcock of the Halyard Restaurant. This series allows the chef to be inspired to create a dish based on the art, then the vineyard, RGNY, will be inspired by the dish and choose which wine to pair.
It’s a continuous connection of inspiration and creativity.
The title of the art show is, “The Essence of Water,” inspired by the water that surrounds us from the Sound, the Bay and the Ocean enveloping the East End on three sides. The show is curated by Kara Hoblin, Founder of the North Fork Art Collective & Director of Guest Culture at Sound View Greenport. As inhabitants of this coastal haven, water is not just a physical presence, but an integral essence woven into our very beings and the fabric of our planet. It symbolizes connectivity and unity with nature. From tranquil oil paintings to dynamic alternative process photography, the artwork showcased embodies a range of mediums and expressions, reflecting the profound influence of water on our lives and creative endeavors. Artworks will be by artists Scott Bluedorn, Dalton Portella, Kerry Sharkey Miller, Alan Bull, Cindy Pease Roe, Carol Young, and Jeremy Garretson. Many of the artists have participated in Sound View’s Uncommon Artist residency program or have taught, partnered, or exhibited at Sound View Greenport. Sound View's Uncommon Artist residency & art programming always aims to connect guests to the thriving local art community of the East End.
A seat at this delicious and special dinner is $200/person
(a portion of this ticket will benefit NFAC. All artwork will be available for purchase.)

ALTER EGOS II
CURATED BY SCOTT BLUEDORN
FRIDAY , OCTOBER 11th 6PM-9PM RECEPTION
We will also be open at 4pm for anyone observing Yom Kippur & see the show before sundown.
"Who is your “alter ego”? Galleries and the art public usually define an artist for a specific thing they do, and this singular identity often supports their career and makes them commercially viable.
However it is my belief all creative people are multi-faceted and often dabble in various mediums, crafts and modes though they may keep this to themselves as a more “personal practice”. This show aims to
bring out the work you may not have shown publicly, have been cultivating in private, or shows another side of your creative life. This show is the second edition of an “Alter Egos” show I curated at Hesse Flatow (formerly Crush Curatorial) Amagansett in 2016. - Scott Bluedorn
